My Life Goals List

Last weekend I went on a girls trip with my girlfriend who was celebrating her dirty 30! How exciting! A brand new decade! One evening while having dinner, I asked her where she sees herself in the next 10 to 20 years. We then proceeded to talk about our long term goals.

Long term goals are just as important as short term goals and new years resolution. Although we have longer to realize them, they also take longer to accomplish. For instance, everyone wants to own a home. Even if you’re in your early 20’s the process of buying a house requires preparation like a good credit score and the funds for a down payment. Raising or maintaining a  good credit score, and saving for your down payment are short term goals that will help you fulfill your long term goal.

On my previous post about How to Set Your Goals for 2017 , I discussed the importance of sorting out your goals in categories. Lots of successful people have shared their life goals list, which has inspired me to work on mine.

This list can be as long as you wish. There is no set rules for how it should be written, and by no means do you have to use the same categories that I have used. This should be written as you see fit, depending on the life you live, and the different areas of your life that you wish to improve.

In this post, I will share with you my personal life goals list. I have included some of the goals that I have already accomplished. This is just an example to help picture how it should be done.  There are no limits to where you should stop with your list. My original list probably has over 100 goals. So feel free to be as thorough and explicit as you wish to be.

My list is divided into six categories. The ones that are italicized have already been accomplished.

  3. So we definitely share a common goal and that make me excited . – start a foundation that mentors young teenagers.

    1. We should totally do it in the near future!

  4. 6 out 7 of our physical goals are the same. Long term goals always intimidate me a bit but I’ll get started working on a list. *grabs bottle of wine*

Your goals are #GOALS! I love the way you categorize them, somewhat it makes them appear more achievable. Also you get to see all that you have actually accomplished! Oh and we share some distinctive goals (That hot air ballon ride has been on my bucket list for THEE longest! My fam and friends always thought I was crazy for wanting to ride one.lol! The orphanage and young women empower program are in the works but I’m not fully committed. Lastly writing a book, a Christian devotional precisely) Definitely going to assess my goals and try to categorize them in a similar way. Thank you again for sharing! Here’s to our upcoming accomplishments !

    1. WOW! So many similarities! I’ve been saying that ” I should write a book” and “should start a mentoring program” and “should” do a lot of different things, but never actually had plans. Which is where a lot of us procrastinate. We should definitely get the ball rolling and stop slacking! You should have your engagement shoot in a hot air balloon! (speaking things to existence already!) Love it!

  6. Oh I absolutely love this breakdown. I wrote out my goals but definitely not as clean, concise and organized as this. I see a revision coming soon. I almost said this weekend…but how about I start on them right now!!! Thanks for the inspiration…keep up the great work!

    1. Thanks for your support and encouragement Jen! I think sorting out your goals will definitely make them look more achievable and will keep you determined! Glad you found this post helpful!
