When my husband and I first met, we mostly clicked over our common interests. We quickly developed a friendship, and often discussed wanting to travel the world. We were both college students, living off of college kids budgets. It had barely been a month since we started talking when he first invited me on a 7 days cruise. The thought of going away with someone that I barely knew for seven days freaked me out! I had no intentions on getting on a boat with someone that I barely knew. I've seen too many lifetime movies! However, I was intrigued by this guy who was adventurous and wanted to share these experiences with me so quickly! A year into our relationship we went to our first vacation, and we haven't stopped traveling ever since. Now 7 years later, together we've visited 17 countries!
Experiencing different cultures and falling in love with different places, have been the best gifts that I've ever received from husband and from myself. How is traveling a gift you may ask? If it entails spending money. My answer to that is simple. No amount of money can replace the experience and the joy that I get from traveling. My life changes with each new place that I discover. I can do without the latest fashion and luxury trends, but I wouldn't trade any of that for the experience that we get every time we travel. We've been blessed to visit some of the most amazing countries, and have stayed in some of the world's best resorts. We've interacted with locals, got lost in Europe, traveled for over 24 hours, and been jet lagged more times than I can count. I still wouldn't change any of it!
Today I'm thankful for being able to afford traveling, and for having someone who is always willing and open to go on these adventures with me. Traveling has become a big part of our life, and I can't think of anything that could replace such an outstanding gif.
