Last weekend I went on a girls trip with my girlfriend who was celebrating her dirty 30! How exciting! A brand new decade! One evening while having dinner, I asked her where she sees herself in the next 10 to 20 years. We then proceeded to talk about our long term goals.<\/p>\n

Long term goals are just as important as short term goals and new years resolution. Although we have longer to realize them, they also take longer to accomplish. For instance, everyone wants to own a home. Even if you’re in your early 20’s the process of buying a house requires preparation like a good credit score and the funds for a down payment. Raising or maintaining a \u00a0good credit score, and saving for your down payment are short term goals that will help you fulfill your long term goal.<\/p>\n

On my previous post about How to Set Your Goals for 2017<\/a>\u00a0, I discussed the importance of sorting out your goals in categories. Lots of successful people have shared their life goals list, which has inspired me to work on mine.<\/p>\n

This list can be as long as you wish. There is no set rules for how it should be written, and by no means do you have to use the same categories that I have used. This should be written as you see fit, depending on the life you live, and the different areas of your life that you wish to improve.<\/p>\n

In this post, I will share with you my personal life goals list. I have included some of the goals that I have already accomplished. This is just an example to help picture how it should be done. \u00a0There are no limits to where you should stop with your list. My original list probably has over 100 goals. So feel free to be as thorough and explicit as you wish to be.<\/p>\n

My list is divided into six categories. The ones that are italicized have already been accomplished.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

1- Family Goals<\/h3>\n
    \n
  • Marry my best friend<\/em>.<\/li>\n
  • Go to the Maldives for our honeymoon.\u00a0<\/em><\/li>\n
  • Start a family.<\/li>\n
  • Celebrate 10th wedding anniversary.<\/li>\n
  • Go on a couple’s retreat.<\/li>\n
  • Spend an anniversary in Bora Bora.<\/li>\n
  • Celebrate a family reunion on a cruise.<\/li>\n
  • Build our dream home.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    2- Influential Goals<\/strong><\/h3>\n
      \n
    • Do yearly teachers conferences in Haiti.<\/em><\/li>\n
    • Start a mentoring program for young and teenage girls.<\/li>\n
    • Write a nonfiction book.<\/li>\n
    • Write a textbook.<\/li>\n
    • Graduate with my BSE.<\/em><\/li>\n
    • Get a doctoral degree.<\/li>\n
    • Start a childcare center.<\/li>\n
    • Sponsor an orphanage.<\/li>\n
    • Launch a blog.\u00a0<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      3- Experiential Goals<\/h3>\n
        \n
      • Ride a camel in the desert.<\/em><\/li>\n
      • Fly over the Grand Canyon.<\/li>\n
      • Swim with the dolphins.<\/em><\/li>\n
      • Take a helicopter ride.<\/em><\/li>\n
      • Read the entire Bible in french and english.<\/li>\n
      • Take a hot air balloon ride.<\/li>\n
      • See the New Years fireworks in Paris or Dubai.<\/li>\n
      • Go on a mission trip.<\/li>\n
      • See Kangaroos in Australia.<\/li>\n
      • Snorkel in the Great Barrier Reef.<\/li>\n
      • Watch a live professional soccer match.\u00a0<\/em><\/li>\n
      • Ride a gondola in Venice.<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

        4- Physical Goals<\/h3>\n
          \n
        • Adopt a whole 30 lifestyle.<\/li>\n
        • Run a marathon.<\/li>\n
        • Do a 10 Days green smoothie cleanse.\u00a0<\/em><\/li>\n
        • Lose and maintain a healthy weight.<\/li>\n
        • Do the 21 days Daniel fast.\u00a0<\/em><\/li>\n
        • Workout with a personal trainer.<\/em><\/li>\n
        • Completely recover from ankle bursitis.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

          5- \u00a0Financial Goals<\/h3>\n
            \n
          • Be debt free by 40.<\/li>\n
          • Retire by 50.<\/li>\n
          • Pay off college loans.<\/li>\n
          • Save for (unborn) children’s college funds.<\/li>\n
          • Live off 20 percent of my income.<\/li>\n
          • Sponsor an orphanage.<\/li>\n
          • Build a vacation home.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

            6- Travel Goals<\/h3>\n
              \n
            • Visit the mother land- Africa.<\/em><\/li>\n
            • Go to Dubai.<\/em><\/li>\n
            • Visit Italy.<\/em><\/li>\n
            • Visit Bali.<\/em><\/li>\n
            • Visit Jerusalem.<\/li>\n
            • See The Northern lights, and swim in the blue lagoon in Iceland.<\/li>\n
            • Visit the Seychelles.<\/li>\n
            • Go to cuba.<\/li>\n
            • Travel to 30 countries before I turn 30 years old.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

              Do keep in mind that your list can be revised and upgraded as often as needed. I hope that this brief example will inspire you to work on your extensive life goals list and use it as roadmap to the accomplishment of your goals.<\/p>\n
