Gender Reveal: BOY OR GIRL? What Are We Having?

Hello Darlings,

Here is our gender reveal post, as promised! I apologize for taking so long with the post, but my energy has been on zero lately. This post is long overdue, and I was just tempted to make the announcement on social media so I wouldn't have to take the time to write out this post. So If you're taking the time to read this, I appreciate you for making my effort worthwhile.

Typically, expecting mothers find out their baby's gender at the 20 weeks mark, where they go this appointment where they perform an anatomy scan of the baby and confirm the sex. However, thanks to technology, those who do not wish to wait that long, can perform an elective ultrasound at an ultrasound place, once you reach your 14 weeks mark where the baby's genitals are formed and be seen with an ultrasound.

Originally, I was going to wait for my anatomy scan to find out our baby's gender. However, my sister and my mom were taking a trip to Florida a little after I reached  14 weeks, and I wanted both of them to be there when we find out the gender. So, I did what every anxious mama to be does, and did an elective ultrasound at 15 weeks. We were having our gender reveal party the following weekend, and opted to find out at the same time as everyone else. So the technician wrote down the gender in a sealed envelope that we kept hidden for a whole week (talking about torture). But finding out with our family was worth it!

Team Pink Or Team Blue?

My husband was team blue! Obviously! He wanted a boy so bad that I convinced myself that I was also team blue. Deep down, I really didn't mind a boy or a girl as this is our first child. I grew up with an older brother and kind of always felt like the oldest should be a boy, because I was raised with an older brother who looked out for me and I was always confident in knowing that he had my back and no one could mess with me.

A girl on the other side was hard work! They're emotional, sensitive, hormonal, stubborn, and complicated! (wowzers! I just described myself there!) But seriously, I always felt like girls are tougher to raise, I don't know what this belief is based on and I can't even tell you why I feel that way. But as a girly girl, I also feel like raising a girl would be fun!

At the end of the day what really matters to us, is a healthy baby!

The Gender Reveal Party

We hosted the party at in our home with close friends and family. I insisted that everyone wear their guess. So you had to either wear pink or blue based on what you thought we were having. My husband was solid team boy and wore blue, I wore pink to keep it interesting, but I truly could not guess what we were having.

I would love to know if you would be team pink or team blue! Be sure to leave me a comment telling me whether your prediction was right once you find out that the gender. Ready to find out?

WE ARE HAVING A BABY GIRL!

We're so excited that God chosen us to bring a baby girl into this world. I'm excited about this part of her journey, and I've been so anxious to see her face since we've found out.

I seriously can't wait to meet our princess!

As always, thanks for reading loves!
