My Baby Shower: WELCOME BABY LEANNE

Those of you following me on social media most likely know that my husband and I hosted our baby shower a couple of weeks ago. I opted that we have it on my birthday weekend so that I would be surrounded by close friends and family all weekend. If you’re wondering, I just celebrated the big 3-0! As big of a birthday as this was for me, I didn’t want to do anything but be with the people that mean the most to me, and even felt like our baby shower was  the perfect birthday present for me.

The shower was held in our clubhouse with  friends and family as attendees. As soon as I find out that we were having a girl, I knew that I would want our baby shower to have a royal theme as our baby girl is undoubtedly our princess.

My husband and I never really discussed baby names at the beginning of our pregnancy. Since he was so keen on having a boy, I thought that he would have a few boy names picked out. As for me, I was ready for both! Surprisingly enough, the day of our gender reveal party, I find out that he already had a girl’s name picked out. He wanted to name her Leanne. This kind of caught me off guard because I thought that I was gonna be the one to pick out the name for the girl. Seeing how involved he still was even after finding out that I was not carrying a boy, made me happy and receptive of his choice. When I looked up the meaning behind the name, I knew that it was perfect for our baby girl.
We decided to reveal the name on the baby shower invites, as we felt like knowing her name would make it more personal for our guests.

In English, the name Leanne means light, and beautiful woman. When I dug a little deeper, I find out that it also means Little Princess in Turkish. Isabelle was one of the names on the top of my list. I like how it sounds, and always felt like it was a pretty name. It is also my cousin’s name who has a youthful, full of life, bubbly personality. My husband’s only issue was that it’s a very common name, so I decided to find a different spelling that he would like. I found the Italian spelling Ysabel and he fell in love with it. What sold me that most was the meaning behind the name; Devoted to God.

Although our theme was royal, I decided to steer away from the usual “crown” centered decorations, and went with carriages and lots of flowers, fit for a princess of course. Our color scheme was blush and gold, with hints of pink.

Our sweets table was beautiful. My vision definitely came to life! I decided to go with a 2 tier cake adorned with flowers, with Leanne's initial in the middle. I also had costumed pink and gold macarons, cupcakes, and cake pops all made around the same theme.

My husband and I are so blessed and overwhelmed with gratitude for our friends and family who flew from different countries and states to be with us on that day. God has truly placed the most amazing and loving people in our lives. I'm so thankful to each and every person who contributed to the success of princess Leanne's baby shower.

Our princess is already so loved! We cannot wait to see her little face. We’re patiently awaiting your arrival baby Leanne, there’s a room full of people who cant wait to meet you!
